RE: Yellowstone Advice Please

Just got back from YP. Took the camper, glad we did, it was nice having your own bathroom as all the restrooms at all the major attractions always had lines. We liked Grant the best and then Madison, forget Bridge bay not much privacy there. Canyon campground had lots of biting bugs. Get to old Faithful early and hike the boardwalks. Have fun!

RE: what would you do....for a boat?

Go for the 18 ft Trophy walkaround. The older models sell for 11-12k. good boat for the salt or lakes, most have at least 90 hp or better, work good to ski behind. Very good rough water boat.

RE: my new tc? got ideas?

I would buy a portable generator, not an installed one, get a 2000w portable if you need a/c or a 1000 w if you don't need a/c. The smaller unit will use much less fuel, I have both but seem to use the 1000w generator more often. Have fun!

RE: Just bought TC week, need advice on towing.

You could get by with a 13 or 18" extension and still tow about 4000 lbs.hopefully you have trailer brakes for the heavy load. Enjoy

RE: CG in Priest Lake, ID

The best campground is the Indian Creek camp of the three Idaho State Park campgrounds. It has the best sandy beach of any park at the lake. Nice sites and a nice wooded setting. It is reservable.

RE: 1st trip of the year w/ pics

I've been to the same campground in June, seeing all the fish jumping at dusk taking insects was a awesome site, very nice area.

RE: Weighed my toys today

Whats your overall length with the boat? After filling up fuel in both the truck and the boat and then hitting the pay booth at the ferry dock, you gotta catch a bunch of fish to feel good about it all. Nice setup.

RE: Fleetwood Angler

Mine is a 2000 model made for SB has the rear tailights and works great on my F-250 and is under my max weight by 400 lbs loaded.

RE: Car Campers

If I,m not mistaken that's the Lance 2009, prototype, called the double king bed model, until they assign it a model number. No dinette, sink or storage. I guess the "market" can decide.:W Maybe Lance could figure out a new horizontal wet bath for that unit.:C

RE: Tiffin vs. Winnebago?

Both are great MoHo builders, Winnie with their new chassis with better storage can compete as a good fulltimer rig. Go with the floor plan that you like and buy that unit and you'll be happy.

RE: Lance 815 alternative

The Fleetwood Angler is similar to the Lance 815,under 1800 lbs, they made them until 2003. The b model is narrow and the c model is wider.

RE: 4 days in Death Valley

Nice post. I've been DV 3 times and rode dual sport motorcycles over the same back roads, some of those roads must have been a chore with the TC.

RE: New Years in Whistler

Spend 3 days at Riverside RV in Whistler B.C. through New Years Eve, They had lots of snow for the tobogganing and skiing. We have been doing this for a few years, nice way to bring in the New year. A few pictures at this link Whistler 2007 New Years Pics Does Whistler have a parking lot to Boondock overnight that is close to the lifts or the village? Most ski area allow this, but how about Whistler?

Why not just leave the TC on the truck during the winter?

RE: small leak underdash by drivers feet

Check your marker lights just below the roof. I had a leak that show up around the driver window, I kept sealing the window with no fix, then the leak also went to the floor under the dash. I checked the clearance lights and found one with the sealant gone, caulked it and no more problem with window or under dash.
